Tea (Camellia sinensis) or clonal tea plantations are laid out in simple lines of trees, spaced about 2 meters apart. Bushes are about 50 to 70 cm high. A tea plantation can be harvested several times a year – (during the harvest seasons which run from October until April) -, during many running years as tea plants can easily reach a hundred years of age.
In order to produce its tea, Jesper harvests its own plantations and buys product from tenant farmers in the area.
There are farms with tea plantations in the organic basin of the province of Misiones, also surrounded by sugar cane plantations, from where we draw the whole cane or muscovado sugar that we produce.
